Transient Spin Injection Efficiencies at Ferromagnet–Metal Interfaces

چکیده
Spin injection across interfaces driven by ultrashort optical pulses on femtosecond timescales constitutes a new way to design spintronics applications. Targeted utilization of this phenomenon requires knowledge the efficiency non-equilibrium spin injection. From quantitative comparison ab initio time-dependent density functional theory and interface-sensitive, time-resolved non-linear experiment, (SIE) at Co/Cu(001) interface is determined, its microscopic origin, i.e., influence spin-orbit coupling electronic structure, discussed. Moreover, we theoretically predict that SIE ferromagnetic–metal can be optimized through laser pulse materials parameters, namely fluence, duration, substrate material.

Theory of Spin Loss at Metallic Interfaces.
Interfacial spin-flip scattering plays an important role in magnetoelectronic devices. Spin loss at metallic interfaces is usually quantified by matching the magnetoresistance data for multilayers to the Valet-Fert model, while treating each interface as a fictitious bulk layer whose thickness is δ times the spin-diffusion length. By employing the properly generalized circuit theory and the sca...
متن کاملFinite Element Modeling of Transient Wave Phenomena at Solidifluid Interfaces
The solid/fluid interface appears in many ultrasonic measurement systems. Models for the system must take account of the interface. Analytical models for wave phenomena at the interface (especially curved interfaces) are either difficult or subject to severe approximation. The finite element method is ideal for this especially when the problem domain is bounded. A survey of this subject has bee...

(please note that in this context, we defi ne as membrane any freestanding thin layer, regardless of selective mass-transport properties). These approaches rely on the possibility of NPs to adsorb and pack into a dense network at an interface. This can occur if the free energy of the nanoparticles bound at the interface is lower than that of the NPs in either of the two phases. [ 38–40 ] The su...
متن کاملSpin and orbital Ti magnetism at LaMnO3/SrTiO3 interfaces.
In systems with strong electron-lattice coupling, such as manganites, orbital degeneracy is lifted, causing a null expectation value of the orbital magnetic moment. Magnetic structure is thus determined by spin-spin superexchange. In titanates, however, with much smaller Jahn-Teller distortions, orbital degeneracy might allow non-zero values of the orbital magnetic moment, and novel forms of fe...
